Classroom Session:
You will learn to completely reset your camera and set it for the best settings to shoot in Full Manual Exposure mode. 

  • understand the cameras' models categorization of your favorite camera brands (Group A, B and C).
  • know the importance of the camera's output File Size and Quality.
  • understand the difference between File Size vs Quality.
  • learn the difference between Manual Exposure and Exposure Compensation.
  • understanding what are Focusing Modes & how they work (AF-S, AF-A & AF-C and also One Shot, AI Focus, AI Servo).
  • understanding what are Focusing Areas (Single, Dynamic, Auto-Area and Single or Auto-Area).
  • understand the difference between Focusing Modes vs Focusing Areas and what Mode and Area best to be used.
  • Learn the technique of Focus, Lock & Recompose like how professional photographers do.
  • Aperture, and effectively understand its relationship to sharpness, blurriness, depth of field and its contribution to the Exposure Mix.
  • Shutter, and effectively understanding its relationship to speed, motion and it's contribution to the Exposure Mix.
  • ISO, and effectively understand its relationship to sensor sensitivity, image definition and image noise.
  • learn the 5 most important Compositional rules that will make your photos STUNNING immediately.
  • learn to avoid making the same mistakes what most beginners do in terms of camera settings and shooting style.

    Practical Sessions:
    The practical session will ensure that participants get the following hands on:
  • practise on how to read your cameras' Meter Exposure under comprehend what the scales mean.
  • practise and mastering the right way to focus with Auto Focus & Single Area (One Shot & Single Focus Point)
  • learn to differentiate between Exposure Metering & Focusing and the right sequences of performing them.
  • learn to Focus, Lock & Recompose to achieve faster shooting styles.
  • learn to create distinct Layers in each scene, thus creating photos with depth and contrast.
  • learn the concept of Depth Of Field, participants will be guided on how to create blurry background or sharp background layers.
  • learn to predict when the camera's Exposure Meter will become inaccurate and the limitations of shooting with natural light.
  • learn to trick the camera's Exposure Metering by knowing precisely when to increase exposure or reduce exposure.
  • practise various Compositional techniques (such as Tilts, Rule of Thirds, Perspective, Cube, etc).
  • learn to shoot in dark locations and very dark locations.
  • practise on bright locations and very bright locations.
  • you will also be exposed to shooting indoor and also outdoor.
  • you will be guided to seek and identify nice locations for shoots.
  • practise to shoot FASTER in full Manual Mode, comprising scene selection, exposure metering and finally focus-locking and recomposing.

  • Full-Day Class (refer to time indicated above).
  • Lunch is included (free-of-charge).
  • Certificate Of Completion is awarded upon your completion of this class.
  • Class is divided into 4 sections through out the day:
    Classroom Session, Practical Session (in studio), Practical Session (outdoor) and Q&A Session.
  • We maintain a low student-to-model ratio allows for more shooting opportunities and experimentation with various camera settings.
  • Professional models are hired to allow participants to practise their newly learned skills on shooting.
  • Class notes will be provided when you sign up via our online system, including videos, cheat-sheets and also summary notes, which you can watch or print at your own convinience.
  • There is a minimum number of participants for this class. If this minimum number is not achieved, we have no alternative but to reschedule this class or refund accordingly.
